Awnings

Why Choose an Awning?

Opening outward from the bottom, Kolbe awning windows offer good ventilation while keeping the exterior elements at bay.  Plus, they close and seal tightly to the frame, with weatherstripping to prevent air infiltration and increase energy efficiency. Awnings are unique in that they may be left slightly open for ventilation in a light rain. Various operation types and configurations are available, including Crank-Out Awnings in all series, and Push-Out Awnings in the Heritage and Ultra Series.

Recently, Awning Crank-Out EP models were added to the Ultra Series. These models offer triple pane glass as standard, for optimal energy performance. Crank-Out Awnings in the Latitude & Windquest Series offer triple pane glass as an option. Often, stationary windows are stacked over awnings, to invite passive solar heat into a home, while allowing fresh air when needed. Plus, awnings may be mulled with casements for even more possibilities.
