3D Models of TerraSpan Doors & Windquest Windows
24/7 access to BIM models, no registration required
Kolbe added Windquest® Series windows and TerraSpan™ lift and slide doors to its collection of more than 1,000 two- and three-dimensional window and door models. Available on-demand, designers and builders no longer need to register on Kolbe's site to access these Building Information Modeling (BIM) Revit® and Google™ SketchUp models.
The 3-D files are located on Kolbe's Website, in the Google™ 3D Warehouse http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse, in the SmartBIM Library™ http://library.smartbim.com/search?manufacturer=Kolbe+%26+Kolbe+Millwork+Co.%2C+Inc.&stem=kolb, and now, at RevitCity, http://www.revitcity.com/.
"Our Revit 3-D models are linked to specifications, 2-D details, performance and so much more to support the information portion of BIM," explains Cindy Bremer, Kolbe's director of marketing "With BIM, you not only can design the exact product, but add and connect with external data sources to instantly compile quantity takeoffs. Visual communications are a more effective way to show the details and options that Kolbe offers architects and their customers."
Kolbe's current selection of BIM tools and 3-D models includes its full line of Ultra Series premium, aluminum-clad wood windows and doors. Part of Kolbe's Ultra Series, the new models for TerraSpan lift and slide doors showcase additional, dynamic functionality. This helps demonstrate the doors' potential for expansive, open room design, incorporating up to 10 panels per unit with a 12-foot maximum panel height. As each panel is 2.25-inches thick, they require minimum space when open -- either nesting behind one another, or recessing into a pocket opening to disappear completely from view.
Providing a view with enhanced protection, Kolbe's hurricane impact rated Windquest Series windows are a popular choice for regions subject to severe storms, tornadoes or gale-force winds. Windquest Series products currently are provided as SketchUp models. More models will be added on a continuous basis.
What began in 1946 as a two-brother team has grown into an internationally respected manufacturing company. Kolbe & Kolbe Millwork Co, Inc. remains a privately held, community-oriented business located in Wausau, Wis. Covering nearly one million-square-feet, its state-of-the-art facilities feature high-tech machinery and a design center to present the creative possibilities offered by Kolbe windows and doors.
