Windquest Series Windows & Doors Offer Impact Resistance
Kolbe Vinyl Windows & Doors Have Received Notice of Acceptance in Miami-Dade County – Hurricane Alley
Wausau, Wis. (March 2, 2009) -- Designed, built and tested to today's strict building codes, Kolbe's Windquest® Series windows and sliding patio doors offer the high design pressure ratings that many commercial projects demand, while also meeting the impact rating criteria for coastal areas. The product line has received notice of acceptance in compliance with Miami-Dade County codes, some of the most stringent requirements by any jurisdiction.
The Windquest Series features impact-resistant, laminated glass with an interlayer that holds the glass in place in the event of breakage, thereby providing a greater level of safety and security from flying debris. Kolbe's Windquest Series has been certified to meet both large missile impact Level D and Wind Zone 4 testing standards, making it an excellent choice for hurricane areas, as well for any region of the country that is subject to severe storms, tornadoes or gale-force winds.
In addition to its protective features, the dual glazing on the Windquest Series contributes to indoor environmental quality by reducing sound transmittance levels. Tempered, impact laminated, insulating glass is standard on Windquest Series sliding patio doors for additional safety, and may be requested for windows as well. For greater energy efficiency, Windquest Series vinyl windows and doors can be ordered with LoE2-270 insulating glass with argon, enabling them to meet or exceed ENERGY STAR® guidelines in all climate zones.
The Windquest Series includes casement, awning, sliding, single hung, and double hung windows, and sliding doors in a full range of sizes, shapes and configurations. Available standard in white or beige, the products also may be color-coated on the exterior with a polyurethane color finish.
