THE WINDQUEST SERIES
Windquest Series vinyl windows and patio doors are designed to meet various needs, including Impact Performance, High Performance/Commercial, and Energy Performance requirements. Each performance designation is unique and requires a specific glazing system. The three types have most construction, grille options, exterior finish, and glass film options in common, however. Learn more about the common options.

Windquest Series IP products include double pane, impact laminated insulating glass units that are glazed with a structural silicone. They have been tested for compliance with HVHZ standards as well as large and small missile impact resistance, and have received Miami-Dade County Notice of Acceptance. Not only does this glass provide a greater level of safety and security from flying debris and intruders, it also helps to reduce sound transmittance levels. Coatings can be added for better energy performance, including LoE3-366, LoE²-270 or LoE²-240.

Windquest Series HP products include double pane insulating glass units that achieve the high design pressure ratings often needed for commercial projects, and those in wind zone areas where impact performance is not required. These units have achieved up to a PG90 (design pressure rating / performance grade of 90). Low emissivity coatings are available to improve energy performance, including LoE3-366 for ultimate performance in all climate zones, LoE²-270 for solar control, and LoE²-240 for glare control. Impact laminated glass is available as well. |

Windquest Series Casements, Awnings and rectangular Studio windows are available as Energy Performance (EP) units. A triple glazing system helps achieve insulating values nearly twice those currently required by ENERGY STAR®. They exceed 2010 ENERGY STAR criteria for all U.S. climate zones, meet an R-PG50 rating, and allow for a maximum air infiltration of only 0.01 cubic feet per minute.
What's more, Windquest EP windows qualify for the Department of Energy's recently-introduced Volume Purchase Program (VPP). This program promotes windows with an R-5 value (or a U-factor of 0.2) – representing the industry's top tier of energy-efficient windows. More information is available in our press release and on the DOE website.

The combination of LoE-270 on Surface #2 and LoE-179 on surface #5 was chosen as the standard for EP units to optimize U-value, visible transmittance, SHGC, and external appearance. These units offer the same glass warranty as our standard dual insulating glass. Other triple-glazed LoE options are available to meet specific needs or passive solar design requirements; please contact the Kolbe Vinyl Division for details and pricing.
Factory mulling is offered and includes a flush mull with a maximum rough opening size of 72x72. Factory-mulling is not available for T- and Double-T-mulls. |

When choosing windows & patio doors, low-maintenance vinyl is the perfect choice. Windquest Series products are built with durability
in mind from uPVC extrusions. Multiple chambers within the uPVC extrusions provide strength. They also create a thermal barrier for superior insulating value, and help reduce the intrusion of outside noise. Hardware includes a coastal finish as standard, but may be ordered without.
Sash and frames of Windquest windows have fusion-welded corners that create strong corner seals. Plus, to aid installation, they include integral vinyl nailing fins as standard.
Available in white or beige with or without 2" brickmould, these vinyl windows & patio doors will complement any design scheme, while requiring very little maintenance. Windquest Series windows provide everything you want in windows including security for your family and protection of your home... regardless of
the weather. |

Glass Film |
|
Windquest products are available with protective film applied to the interior and exterior glass surfaces. This film not only protects the
glass from scratches during transit and construction, but
also reduces the time involved in jobsite clean-up. Learn more about glass film. |
NOTE: Windquest Series sliding patio doors are exterior glazed with the laminated pane toward the interior. All other Windquest products are interior glazed with the laminated pane toward the exterior.
