Energy Performance (EP) units are built to meet or exceed strict

energy requirements. Insulating values are nearly twice that

which is currently required by ENERGY STAR

®

. Plus, they

exceed 2010 ENERGY STAR criteria for most climate zones in

the U.S. and Canada.

Casements, awnings, studio, transom, radius, geometric and

sliding patio doors are available as Energy Performance units.

A triple pane glazing system helps these products achieve a

remarkable energy performance rating of R5 for windows and

over an R4 for sliding patio doors.

Windquest EP units allow for a maximum air infiltration of only

.01 cubic feet per minute, which is 30 times better than the

industry standard.

The above LoE combination was chosen as the standard for EP units to optimize U-Factor, visible transmittance (VT), SHGC,

and external appearance. Other LoE options are available to meet specific needs or passive solar requirements; check with your

local Kolbe dealer for further information.
