Old Sacramento, California
Heritage Series oversized wood outswing doors, crank-out casements, and double hungs
with 1-1/8" wide performance divided lite bars and a K-Kron II exterior paint finish in Truffle.
The Orleans, a Gold Rush-era hotel, again takes its place as an iconic building in Old
Sacramento. Monighandesign painstakingly recreated the three-story street-front to match the
original 1865 architecture. Contributing to the replica, Kolbe provided ten-foot tall, wood double
doors that open onto the boardwalk, as well as windows with performance divided lites. Double
hungs and casements were chosen for the two-story addition, which is concealed from direct
view to preserve the historic façade. It reopened in 2008 as a mixed-use space, including 24
lofts, ground-floor retail, and a high-end restaurant.
