The word today in the building industry is Green. Several organizations exist to promote green practices, as well as to define and measure Green Building. By associating with these organizations, Kolbe® demonstrates a commitment to the green goals of conserving resources, saving energy, and maintaining a healthy environment.

Forest Stewardship Council – The FSC has set rigorous standards both for the conservation of forests, as well as the handling of wood as it enters the manufacturing process, moves through distribution networks, and finds its way to the consumer. Kolbe joins the mission with FSC Chain-of-Custody Certification.

United States Green Building Council – The USGBC was formed to help define and guide green building. It has developed a voluntary rating system known as LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design). Kolbe's products and options can contribute toward LEED for Homes (LEED-H) and LEED for New Construction (LEED-NC).

ENERGY STAR® – A building project cannot be green without products that are energy efficient. Kolbe offers windows and doors that meet or exceed ENERGY STAR qualifications throughout the USA and Canada, which in turn factor into LEED points.
